Help Japan: An email from Kazuya Kawamura

My sincere thanks to all of you for the support. Fortunately, all my family members live in the Tokyo area or to the west. They are safe and although they are experiencing blackouts and food and grocery shortages, they are in no danger. I am monitoring the situation at the nuclear power plant, which is the most serious concern for the people in the Tokyo area at the moment. We can only hope that they will succeed in stabilizing the reactors.

Even though Japan is a wealthy country, past experiences, such as 1995 Kobe Earthquake, show that monetary donations provide significant relief and are more effective than goods that will require distribution and logistics process. Donations can be made at the following site.:
